Terms of Service
Last updated September 2026
1. Acceptance
By creating an account or using Socratis, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Socratis.
2. The service
Socratis teaches through AI generated content and interactive quests. Content is generated as you learn; we check it, but we cannot guarantee it is always right. Check anything important against an authoritative source, especially for professional exams such as the CFA, ACCA, the bar or medical licensing.
3. Subscriptions and billing
- Free trial: 14 days at no charge. A payment method is needed to start it. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, your plan starts and you are charged.
- Prices: shown in the app before you subscribe. We give 30 days' notice of any price change.
- Renewal: plans renew every month until you cancel. After you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
- Cancelling: if you subscribed in the App Store or Google Play, cancel in your store's subscription settings. Deleting your account does not cancel a store subscription. If you subscribed on our website, cancel from your account there.
- Refunds: for App Store and Google Play purchases, Apple and Google handle refunds under their own policies. For website purchases, we refund your first payment within 7 days if you are not satisfied: write to hello@socratis.app.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, scrape or copy curriculum content at scale.
- Use Socratis for academic dishonesty, or present its answers as your own in assessed work.
- Share your account, or get around your plan's limits.
- Submit harmful, illegal or offensive learning goals or documents.
5. Your uploads
If you upload a document, you confirm you have the right to share it. After review, it may become course material that other learners use. If you delete your account, it stays, with your name removed.
6. Intellectual property
Socratis and its curriculum design belong to its operator. Content made for you during a session is licensed to you for personal, non commercial learning only. You may not reproduce or redistribute it.
7. Disclaimers
Socratis is a learning tool, not professional advice. Content may contain errors. Socratis is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind.
8. Limitation of liability
As far as the law allows, our total liability for any claim arising from your use of Socratis is limited to what you paid us in the 3 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
9. Ending your account
We may suspend or close accounts that break these Terms. You can delete your account at any time: in the app, Profile, then Account, then Delete account.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes go to the courts of England and Wales.
